What has been preserved
The original Barry's Rigs 'n Reviews was known through technology-community references for hands-on coverage of enthusiast hardware, software and games. Surviving references point to reviews involving PC cases, graphics cards, notebooks, power equipment, network storage, peripherals and backup software.
This restoration preserves that topical identity and organizes it into modern category pages. The text is newly written so readers get a coherent reference site rather than a patchwork of copied historical pages. Product names are used only where they help explain the kinds of hardware historically associated with the publication.
The information architecture is deliberately simple. Each category can stand on its own, while navigation, breadcrumbs and related-reading links connect adjacent subjects. That mirrors how enthusiast hardware actually works: cases affect cooling, networking affects storage, and software determines whether backups are useful when recovery is needed.
How to use the archive
Begin with Hardware Reviews for the general evaluation framework. PC Builds explains system balance, while the focused sections cover graphics, cases, storage, networking, peripherals, software and gaming. Retro Tech brings those categories back together with historical context.
The site is designed as a lightweight static publication so it can be hosted on ordinary web servers without a database or complex runtime. A paired AMP version is included for every main page, together with canonical metadata and a sitemap.
