Gateway XDHD 3000's features. If
you've got a pair of GeForce 8800 Ultras
itching for a good hi-res workout when

Phil
McKinney, VP & CTO of HP's Personal
System's Group, shows off one of
Voodoo PC's gaming laptops...
The
Blackbird 002 up close and personal.
This rig is every bit as fast and powerful
as its Air Force namesake.
The only
thing better than a Blackbird 002:
one of the lovely and talented ladies of
PMS Clan.

Blackbird 002.

rFactor.
So much for the myth that laptops can't cut
it for hi-definition gaming...
Last year
at
DigitalLife, Intel had the most
impressive racing sim display of the show.
This year they topped it with a pair of
these
BMW Sauber F1 Team replicas.
Nero 8 was on display with improved
Windows Vista compatibility, a more
attractive and streamlined front end for
Nero StartSmart, and a number of new
features and enhancements.
Intel,
Dell and Alienware teamed up to stuff this
big rig with their high-performance gaming
rigs, notebooks, widescreen LCD displays,
and some hot and soon-to-be-released games.
Inside
the trailer were high-performance Dell XPS desktops
and notebooks...
...and of
course, Half-Life 2: Episode 2—all
part of
The Orange Box Collection.
Alyx Vance was kind enough to pose
for me before getting back to saving the world from the
Combine menace.
Gordon Freeman couldn't make it.
And as you
can see here,
Dog was a
little occupied at the
moment.
The
X205 with an exclusive Gears Of War
paint job for the winner of the Toshiba
contest. Very nice!
A closer
look at the X205.
...and
the specs. Plenty of power, compact form
factor—SLI and DirectX 10 ready—what's not to like?
Microsoft had a number of currently and
soon-to-be-released titles under Games
For Windows on display. Here's World In Conflict, which was just recently released.
Gears
Of War, which I personally think will be
a much bigger hit than
Halo 2 for Windows
Vista. I can tell you that with a mouse and
keyboard, THIS GAME ROCKS!
Here we
see two of the year's must-play titles for
the PC that will either make or break
Windows Vista (and DirectX 10) as a gaming
platform (from left to right)—Crysisand
Hellgate: London.
Further right are
Bioshock and Gears Of War.
America's Army: True Soldiers sponsored by the U.S.
Army, was also on display at
DigitalLife '07 in a separate exhibition
hall (probably some "National Security"
thing).
America's Army: True Soldiers combat
exercises were set up inside to give you
some idea of what it's really like to
be a soldier. Taking photographs inside was prohibited.
7-day
free trials of Lord Of The Rings Online:
Shadows of Angmar were give away at the
show.
Winning the 2006 IGN Best of E3: Gear
Award and 2006 Finalist for E3
Editor's Choice Award: Best Hardware,
The
Novint Falcon takes 3D force-feedback
gaming to a whole new level. Playing
Half-Life 2 was like an entirely new
game with the Falcon.
What would DigitalLife be without
hot cars sporting the latest in audio-visual
and wireless gear—like this Ford Mustang
customized by Nokia.
Shots of the crowd before the show
starts. Although the show had fewer exhibits
than last year, the turnout for
DigitalLife 2007 was quite impressive
over the four-day period of the show.
After a
long day of walking the floor and taking in
the sights, what's the best way to unwind?
Games, of course...
...and
more games!
As the first 2 and 3D headset that is
truly cross-platform compatible, the
Headplay
Personal Cinema System made quite a
splash at the show. Headplay is one
of the sponsors for the upcoming
Midnight Gaming Championship in Dallas,
Texas on October 6th.
